Abstract

«Democrazia e Sicurezza – Democracy and Security Review», ideata dal prof. Salvatore Bonfiglio, è nata come periodico scientifico dell’Università degli Studi Roma Tre all’interno del PRIN 2008 «Costituzioni e Sicurezza dello Stato: scenari attuali e linee di tendenza» e proseguito con il PRIN 2010-2011 «Istituzioni democratiche e amministrazioni d’Europa: coesione e innovazione al tempo della crisi economica». La rivista intende approfondire il rapporto tra democrazia e sicurezza: esso, se pur a volte conflittuale, non deve mai negare, a maggior ragione in un ordinamento democratico, i diritti fondamentali della persona.

The essay provides an overview of the recent changes in Italian legislation in relation to security issues, refugees status and immigration policies, in the time of international terrorism. The Author analyses in particular the decree n. 113/2018 (“Decreto-legge Salvini”), investigating the feasible and necessary balance between security policies and terrorism prevention, on one side, and fundamental human rights, on the other, in the light of the Italian Constitution.

As extreme and far right movements become increasingly widespread in many countries, the sociology of social movements is called to confront them. The article presents a review of the literature on extreme right movements from a social movement studies perspective, systematizing this literature in three different main orientations, according to their theoretical orientations and methodological approaches, with a particular focus on close-up researches.
