Abstract
The book updates the notion of dispositif by analysing the relationship between agency (individuals as well as collective), technological media and environment. In doing so the book combines strands from cognitive science and analytical philosophy, phenomenology and radical thought, media archaeology and animal studies. Starting from the Foucauldian notion of dispositif as an ensemble of practices and technologies that actively shapes the human being-in-the-world, epistemological notions such as “subject”, “experience”, “body”, “environment” and “agency” are reformulated from an historically and multidisciplinary situated position.
