Abstract
Questo volume presenta le diverse forme in cui si esprimono le frontiere nelle manifestazioni rupestri della Mesoamerica e del nord del Messico. A partire da tredici capitoli, scritti da specialisti, si propone di analizzare le frontiere rupestri di collettivi nomadi e comunità agricole, come strutture dinamiche, simboliche o liminali, a partire dagli aspetti sociali, sacri, politici o economici. Le frontiere sono considerate sia fisiche che immaginarie, essendo interpretate dalla cosmovisione o da elementi intangibili, come l'appropriazione del paesaggio, i miti, gli spazi condivisi, i nodi tra le località o i punti di rottura.
This volume presents the different ways in which borders are expressed in the rock art of Mesoamerica and northern Mexico in the rock art of Mesoamerica and northern Mexico. From thirteen chapters, written by specialists, it is proposed to analyze the rupestrian borders of nomadic collectives and agricultural communities, as dynamic, symbolic, or liminal structures, starting from the social, sacred, political, or economic aspects. Borders are considered both physical and imaginary, being interpreted from the cosmovision or intangible elements, such as the appropriation of the landscape, myths, shared spaces, nodes between localities, or rupture points.
