The 8th ARCo’s National Conference was dedicated to the reflections on architectural heritage restoration, with a special focus on the current critical issues and a section dedicated to the restoration designs, done or in progress, in order to represent the state-of-the-art about conservation and restauration in Italy and abroad. They presented their designs and reflected on the themes at stake, looking at the heritage as a close union of both the material substance of building and its architectural form, as well as its cultural meaning. ARCo focused its activity on recovery and restauration, so playing a pioneering role in the study, re-evaluation and rehabilitation of the historical techniques in the restauration field in every constructive aspect, included the anti-seismic prevention techniques.
