Abstract
The work collects a significant number of essays dedicated to Antonio Fiorella, for the influential contribution that he made to criminal law. The authors are well-known Italian and foreign Criminal law Scholars, members of Judiciary system and Legal profession. The publication was intended to offer a ‘place’ for discussion and critical study on the state of criminal law and its possible prospects for development, in such an historical moment, in which the fundamental categories of liberal criminal law seem to be challenged by the emergence by hyper-securitaist and hyper-punitive tendencies.
