Abstract
The third volume dedicated to materials and ongoing studies on ‘Villa Maruffi’, highlights the interest in the history of the culture that flows from this structure and the territory in which it is included, through the brick stamps collection. The contextualization and analysis of factors that are the material evidence of the dense network of villas that characterize the suburbs of Rome since antiquity, follow the phases of intense construction and decline, but it is also possible reconstruct other stories. That of families who have left their trademark, or that of the owners who have lived in the time the same structures, up to the modern phase of discovery and ‘extraction’ of the antiquities. Stories of people, activities, places, that are revealed to those who have the curiosity to watch with deep interest the less obvious traces of our past.
