Abstract

The essays collected in this volume originate from the 17th Annual Conference of the Legal Research Network (LRN). The success of rights-based discourse has obscured the web of duties, obligations, and responsibilities that makes the enjoyment and enforcement of rights possible. The contributions invite readers to revisit this neglected dimension, exploring the evolving relationship between rights, duties, responsibilities, and collective interests in contemporary legal systems. They do so from a variety of perspectives, ranging from family law and higher education governance to European Union external relations, digital regulation, copyright law, and legal theory.
